A LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE WISE COUNTY / CITY OF NORTON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
Foundedin1989, Forward Wise County is a leadership development program sponsored by the Wise County Chamber of Commerce. Each year the program graduates approximately 20 citizens interested in working toward a better Wise County/City of Norton.

What is it?
Forward Wise County’s mission is to identify and help develop local leaders. We plan to accomplish this mission by bringing together a diverse group of individuals who share a commitment to positive change in Wise
County and the City of Norton by helping the participants to
➢Understand and appreciate different styles of leadership
➢Learn about the present infrastructure of the county/city
➢Become aware of critical issues affecting the future of Wise County and the City of Norton
➢Set and achieve goals
How can I participate?
➢Applicants must be 21 years old
➢Applications maybe picked up at the Wise County/City of Chamber office located at
765 Park Avenue SW, Norton

The $250 covers the classes and in many instances, employers are willing to pay the cost of tuition.
How does it work?
The program will begin on Monday, February 28 with an orientation followed by a mandatory 1/2 day retreat will be held Saturday, March5.Classes will begin March 7th and will be held each Monday from6:00toapproximately8:30 p.m. for 11 weeks. Forward Wise County will conclude with a graduation luncheon in May. The program schedule will be presented to the applicants upon acceptance into the program.
